Volunteer Applications
To open the doors of the Siren's Wail we are officially opening applications for our Staff. We are seeking disciplined, creative, and community-minded leaders who want to bring this dream into reality.
The Cross-Training Expectation
Before you apply, you must understand our core operational mandate:
Every single member of the staffing team undergoes basic cross-training.
No Silos: If you are a HEMA/TSL Director or SCA marshal, you will still be trained to recognize emotional "bleed" and guide a player to a dedicated expert. If you are an immersive theater director or larp runner, you will be trained to recognize basic combat and sport safety, how to call a safety hold and alert our experts. Our staff operates as a single family, fully equipped to assist, support, and step in for one another when the game peaks.
Volunteer Operational Covenant:
ALL accepted volunteers will sign an official Volunteer Operational Covenant before stepping onto the site.
The LLC Protection: You are volunteering your time for the operating company which holds the full commercial general liability insurance policy for the event.
The Marshal's Shield: Because you are managing a controlled-access martial space under strict marshal guidelines, this covenant insulates you personally from third-party liability claims, ensuring the entire crew is legally protected while running the floor.
The Writer's Shield: The contract explicitly notes that you are executing a textual framework licensed by the Author personally.
Volunteer Logistics, Benefits, & Commitments
We are an independent, break-even studio. We treat our volunteers with the exact same hospitality that we extend to our player base, but we are bound by the physical limits of our venue.
Full Meal Provisions: Catered hot meals during the event.
Professional Media Access: Full clearance to the professional event photography library after the event concludes.
Full Site Access & Lodging: Alongside the core project team the remaining beds not issued to players and core team members will be assigned to our volunteers.
The Camping Reality: While core project leads are assigned to fixed bunks, some of our game volunteers will absolutely need to camp on-site in tents. You will not be alone out in the elements, but you must arrive prepared with your own shelter if required.
The Camping Fee Covered: If you are accepted as a member of our volunteer staff we will fully cover your venue site camping fee. You do not owe the venue vendor anything for your tent space; our studio absorbs this cost as an act of gratitude for your labor.
The Site Gift: a custom mug from Claybaby Pottery.
Standby Players: Logistics, Benefits, & Commitments
We will do our absolute best to secure an open cabin bed, a custom pottery mug, and an official meal ticket for Standby Players, but we will not know if these resources are available until the exact moment we cast you into an active role. The second you are tapped to pilot a character packet, any open cabin beds or available meal resources will be immediately assigned to you at Ops.
The Shared Table (Food Run Subsidy): While we cannot guarantee a slot on the primary kitchen roster for uncast standbys at check-in, we refuse to let our crew go hungry. If a volunteer steps forward to organize a collaborative off-site food run for our uncovered team members, we will chip in studio funds to subsidize and cover a portion of the food costs.
